Hospitality Committee

This committee organizes the refreshments for many of the HCPPO events. They also organize the monthly teacher’s breakfast which is held the last Friday of each month, as well as a few other events. This committee is active all year.
Uniform Closet

Each year gently used , good condition school uniforms are donated to HCP by our own students (things they have outgrown). The uniforms are then sold to students at significantly discounted prices. Families who donate are given first choice in the sale. This committee organizes the collection, organization, pricing and sale of uniforms. The uniform sale takes place in August on freshman orientation day and on schedule pick up day for the other grades. This committee is active in May at the end of the school year if seniors want to drop off their uniforms, and again in August before school starts.

 The HCP campus is our school’s first impression on new students and parents as well as the general public. It is the Beautification committee’s responsibility to help us put our best foot forward. This group oversees the mowing and gardening, planting and general upkeep of the school grounds. Anchored by the monthly Parent Work Day, landscape and maintenance is a great way to get involved and to meet other parents while earning DOUBLE parent hours. This committee is active primarily in fall and spring.
Welcome Back BBQ

The Howdy Dance is a welcome back event held in the first few weeks of school. This committee is active in August. The chair coordinates decorations, music (DJ), and obtaining chaperones for the dance. 
Blue and Gold Fundraiser

This is the HCPPO’s main fundraiser and we do it twice a year. It supports financial scholarships awarded to graduating senior each year, as well as various other events and activities. This committee handles the organization of the sale, monetary collection and product delivery. We need people to help tally orders, count money and unload and organize orders for delivery. We need strong minds and strong backs! This committee is active in at the beginning of the school year, and then again early in the new year, typically around February. 
Spirit Gear

HCPPO sells t-shirts, bumper stickers and other items for Harding parents and students. We need people to staff the tables, order stock, and manage money. This committee is active primarily at the beginning of the school year but also occasionally during the year and at the new parent meeting in May.

Homecoming at HCP is more than just a basketball game. We have an entire week’s worth of activities and this committee’s members helps with several of them. (The HCP Student Council – a.k.a. STUCO – manages most of them.)

Our scholarship committee is a group of parents and administrators who review the available college funding help for students attending HCP. Members will read and score essays submitted by seniors. Awards are given based on the applications, overall performance and essay score. This committee places funding with deserving students that will go toward books, tuition, room & board or most any college expense. The committee is active in March only.

The nominating committee accepts nominations and prepares the ballots for elections. There are two elections during the school year. The first is in September for the Governance Board Freshman Parent Representative and the second is the HCPPO Officers election in March. The nominating committee accepts nominations in August and February and presents them at the September and March PTO meetings.
